Film Analysis :)

Stardust (2007)

Ordinary World
Young Triston tries to woe his girl with flowers, unfortunately fails, gets laughed at, and gets hit around a few times. "You were always useless at fencing Triston...In fact, I'm having trouble remembering if there was anything you were good at." Then the next day the chick takes advantage of him and gets him fired at his job. "Father, I lost my job." Basically, the town loser.
Call
The king in Stormhold challenges his sons to a competition to be heir to the throne. "Only he of royal blood can restore the Ruby, and the one of you that does so shall be the new king of Stormhold." For some reason that ruby hits a star out of the sky and sends it tumbling to Earth. Triston and Victoria see it and he promises to retrieve it for her. "Victoria, for your hand in marraige, I'd cross the wall and bring you back that falling star."
Refusal
He gets beat up by the old man guarding the wall. "Nobody crosses the wall you know that...Off you go."
Tests Allies and Enemies
Triston's parents help get him to the star with a magical candle. He finds the 'star' and chains her to him, then they begin their journey back. Meanwhile a witch goes on a hunt for the star to cut out her heart and eat it, to get younger obviously. And the two princes that are left also hunt for the star. The Star gets escapes from Triston and he has a vision to go save her. He teams up with one of the princes and walks right into the witch's trap. The Prince doesn't make it. But the magical candle saves the star and him, and somehow they end up in the clouds. They obviously get picked up by a floating pirate ship that collects lightning in storms. The Captain is a real jerk and threatens to kill Triston and take the star as his own. Fortunately he is quite dainty and was just putting a show on for his manly crew. They fake Triston's death, give him a makeover and pretend he's the Captain's nephew.
Mentor
The Captain teaches Triston how to be a man, various things like fighting, flying floating ships, and slow-dancing. The Star and Triston start falling in love, so of course she grows bright. The captain figures out who she is and warns her. The Captain drops them off and they continue on their journey.
Approach
They're almost a day away from crossing the wall. They try to hitch a ride with an amateur witch. The witch can't see or hear the star, so she turns Triston into a mouse and their on their way. The star bears her heart to the mouse, and Triston hears it. They make out ect. ect. and now it's the next morning.
Ordeal
Triston brings Victoria some of the star's hair, but he learns that once any of the star crosses the wall it turns to dust. Triston's mom barely saves the star from crossing the wall. But then they get taken by the witch to go to her evil lair. Triston shows up at the lair, and meets up with the last prince. The prince dies, but Triston manages to take out the witch's two sisters.
Reward
Turns out that Triston's mom is the King's daughter, and since Triston is related, he restores the Ruby and becomes king, with the star by his side.
Road Back
They travel to Stormhold and are crowned, the movie doesn't actually show them going back it just implies it.
Resurrection
Turns out those who posses the heart of a star (which Triston did) live forever. They lived to see their grandkids grow old.
Return with Elixir
They use a magic candle to go back to the Star's original home, so now they're both stars. They both live forever with each other and get to watch the world go by.
